An End User License Agreement (EULA) is an electronic agreement frequently used by software or online service providers. Users must agree to certain terms and conditions before using the provider’s product or service. Often, EULAs are presented as a pop-up window or checkbox.
Certain tools integrated with Canvas require a separate EULA. This page includes information for integrated tools in Canvas that require a separate EULA.
If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact the Courseware Support Team at canvas@pobox.upenn.edu.
Panopto (Class Recordings)
Users of Panopto will be prompted to agree to a EULA when accessing Panopto for the first time. The content of this agreement is as follows:
Copyright notice: Video recordings made available through Panopto are solely for your personal, educational use in connection with the University courses in which you are enrolled. Class recordings and recorded materials for class may not be shared, copied or redistributed without the permission of Penn and the instructor. All class recordings are subject to the University of Pennsylvania’s Policy on Unauthorized Copying of Copyrighted Media.
iThenticate
Users of iThenticate should be aware that the product is subject to a EULA. This agreement takes the form of a pop-up window. You must click I agree to proceed and use the product.
We want you to be informed about the agreement and what it entails and strongly encourage you to read the entire EULA, as it details your rights and responsibilities as a user of iThenticate. Please note that the EULA is an agreement between the user and iParadigms, the company that licenses iThenticate, and does not involve the Libraries or the University. The Libraries have a separate licensing agreement that allows us to install and use the product.
Turnitin
Teaching teams and students who use Turnitin-enabled assignments should be aware that the product is subject to a EULA. We encourage you to read the entire EULA.
Depending on the Turnitin integration being used, the EULA may be presented as either a pop-up window when accessing the Turnitin Assignment Dashboard or a check box when submitting an assignment. You must click I agree in order to proceed and use the product.
