Canvas Production Release Notes: March 19, 2022

Canvas operates on a monthly release cycle through which features are added or updated. Courseware Support posts highlights from Canvas’s production release notes, a link to these notes, and other relevant content to the Canvas at Penn a few days before the production release, which usually occurs on Saturdays. March 19, 2022 Production Release Highlights

  • Equation Editor Update: The Equation Editor in the Rich Content Editor displays an updated interface. The update provides mobile responsiveness and an enhanced user experience.
  • Individual Outcome Rating and Calculations Method Options: When creating outcomes, admins and instructors have the option to set criterion rating levels and calculation methods on an individual basis. Admins can set criterion rating levels for the account and for all courses. Instructors can only set criterion rating levels for outcomes created within their own courses.
  • Split Name Columns (Gradebook): The Gradebook View menu includes the option to split student names into two separate columns, showing first and last names separately.

New Quizzes Updates

  • Item Bank Filtering Terminology Adjustment: In New Quizzes item banks, the All My Banks and All My Course Banks filters have been replaced as the All Banks and Banks Shared to Course filters. Additionally, the This Course filter has been added to the filter options. The This Course filter will be the default filter when navigating to Item Banks within a course.
