The Penn Libraries is hiring a Courseware Support Librarian to support Canvas!
Reporting to the Courseware Services Manager, the Courseware Support Librarian will provide end-user support for the University’s Canvas Learning Management System, and other library-based instructional technology services, as well as collaborate with colleagues on special projects related to library services. The Courseware Support Librarian will develop documentation and training for Canvas and integrated tools. S/he will communicate courseware updates to the campus community and manage the Canvas at Penn blog, our documentation and communication hub. S/he will receive, troubleshoot, and respond to support queries in a timely and accurate manner. S/he will participates in library public service activities including reference, instruction, and outreach, and in special projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Library Information Science or related field and related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrated experience supporting instructional technology within a college or university setting. Demonstrated initiative and commitment to proactive, courteous service. Strong analytical skills. The ability to work both independently and collegially, and to collaborate effectively. Effective oral and written communication skills and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrated experience teaching workshops. Experience with blogging or managing a social media presence in a professional or higher education setting preferred. Knowledge of accessibility issues in technology and/or higher education preferred.
