You don’t need a special T-shirt to remind your students about course policies and assignments. Build out your syllabus in Canvas and help students manage their work for your class.
How to do it in Canvas
The Syllabus tools is an online home for your traditional syllabus document. You can use all or some of it and/or attach a Word document or PDF here or elsewhere in the site.
The syllabus description [3] is where you can post your course description, a brief introduction, and other important information from your syllabus. You also can attach a file here to the PDF or Word version of your syllabus. Start working on your syllabus by clicking on the Edit Syllabus Description [1] button. What should your syllabus say? CTL has some suggestions.
Canvas automatically updates and displays assignments and events on the Syllabus page when you create them in the “Assignments” or “Calendars” sections of your site [2, 4]. Once created, the assignment or event appears in the table near the bottom of the Syllabus page [4]. The table displays the due date/event date and a link to each assignment or event.
